Overview
The Vivesta Content Ingest Application Suite provides aquisition and import audiovisual content from different sources, media carriers and formats (e.g. Digibeta, MPEG2, MXF, Windowsmedia and MPEG4). Due to this organizations are able to realize an integrated content ingest solution on the base of a singular platform for ingesting video tapes, user generated content and broadcast media formats.
With the optional transcoding services content can be automatically converted to customer defined media formats for archiving or file delivery to third party platforms.
For converting large tape archives to disk the Vivesta Content Ingest platform can be extended with automated control of all main broadcast tape decks (e.g. Sony DigiBeta) and tape robots (e.g. Sony FlexiCart).
Key features and benefits
Workflow example
Files are automatically 'watched' and uploaded from various servers and FTP accounts. When the files are ingested, the content provider can login with a personal account and see all the files which are ingested for this account.
The content provider is able to browse and preview the files and apply metadata. Besides the metadata also pictures and other related information (e.g. related weblinks) can be added to the files making them media objects (group of files including video file, metadata and pictures).
When the media objects are completed, distribution jobs can be assigned to one or more media objects. Based on the distribution (transcoding) profile the media object will be automatically converted and delivered to the intended playout platform (e.g. VoD streaming server for cable network services).
